Causes of Morbidity and Health Care Options Available to the Displaced Population of Pereira, Colombia

Csar Duque Gmez, School of Medicine

The purpose of this project was to investigate the common health problems, the availability and accessibility of adequate health care for the displaced population of Pereira (Colombia).

For this purpose Cesar visited the city of Pereira during the summer of 2002. There he conducted interviews with health care officials and providers, with people of various communities, and patients in need of health care.

He also visited and observed the living conditions of the communities themselves as well as the health care facilities available for this population.
