“Perspectives on Bolivia”

December 10, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

“Jeanine Áñez is accused of a coup by ex-leader Morales.”

“Bolivia death toll rises amid pro-Morales protests.”

“What now that long-serving leader Evo Morales has sought asylum and an interim leader is in place?”

“Food and fuel shortages hit Bolivia amid crisis.” These are just some of the titles of BBC news reports on current events in Bolivia.

Professors Gabriel Hetland, U of Albany, SUNY; Javier Sanjines, U of Michigan; Patrick Iber, UW-Madison; and Elena McGrath, Carleton College, will debate the current events to help us understand what is happening in this mostly indigenous country in the Andes.
