Janaina Saad is a PhD candidate in Sociology at UW-Madison. Her dissertation explores emerging strategies of labor organizing among platform delivery workers in Brazil. Her previous work examines how deindustrialization shaped urban policies in two Brazilian cities during the 1990s. Prior to her doctoral studies, Janaina received a master’s degree from the Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies (LACIS) Program at UW-Madison. She has worked with various organizations of informal workers in Brazil.
