Emma Nelson is an undergraduate student pursuing degrees in Political Science and Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies (LACIS) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and is a Communications Assistant for LACIS. Emma’s academic interests include economic and urban development, education and its frameworks, and foreign affairs. After graduating from UW-Madison, Emma intends to pursue further education, extending knowledge of the LACIS region and diving into realms of public affairs and policy.
Emma grew up in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Outside of her coursework and time as the LACIS Communications Assistant, Emma has completed internships in the State Senate and for a political consulting firm in Washington, D.C. In Emma’s free time she enjoys spending being with family and friends, traveling, and watching college basketball and golf.
