For more than five decades, the Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies Program (LACIS) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison has fostered significant connections among students, educators, and communities. We advance interdisciplinary learning, research, and public engagement focused on Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Iberian Peninsula, and regularly host visiting scholars from these regions. Our initiatives encompass academic programs, K–12 outreach, partnerships with community organizations, and a range of fellowship and grant opportunities. Through research, teaching, and public engagement, we seek to promote a more informed, equitable, and sustainable future for communities both locally and globally. As a unit within UW–Madison’s International Division, LACIS is dedicated to promoting global understanding and engagement.
