On October 30th, just hours before Halloween, staff from the International Division, including Dean Frances Vavrus, joined KJ, a tour guide from Mad City Ghost Walks, for a chilly and fun October afternoon. The group, thanks to their guide, explored the haunting secrets of UW-Madison.
The tour included stops at many of the campus’ most infamous locations – Science Hall, Memorial Union, Alumni Park, Bascom Hall, and North Hall. The tour revealed secrets of some of UW-Madison’s most beloved spots. KJ gave in-depth background drawing in staff throughout the tour, with haunted tales of the campus they know and love. During the stop at Alumni Park, along the shores of Lake Mendota, staff were surprised to run across an art installation of UW-Madison “firsts” — one of these firsts features the Philippines, which is home to the first overseas alumni chapter!

Proceeds and contributions from this event will go towards the State of Wisconsin’s annual Partners in Giving campaign. Staff not only just partook in a spooky educational experience on the haunts of UW-Madison, but also supported a wonderful cause sponsored by the International Division.

If you missed the opportunity to participate in this event, the Partners in Giving campaign will come to a close with World Trivia on November 18th, from 2:30 to 4:00pm. Meet on the 3rd floor of the Red Gym and form a team to compete in international trivia with the chance for prizes (suggested donation $25/team).
