About the presenter: Ligia Bolívar Osuna Sociologist (UCAB) with a specialization in Human Rights (UCV). Founder of the Venezuelan Program of Education-Action in Human Rights (PROVEA), co-founder and former president of the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL, Washington D.C.), and co-founder and board member of the International Council for Human Rights Studies (London-Geneva). She was a member of the International Executive Committee of Amnesty International and served on the Board of Trustees of the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Technical Cooperation in the Field of Human Rights (Geneva). Former director of the Human Rights Center at Andrés Bello Catholic University and has been a visiting professor at several universities in Venezuela, the United States, Ecuador, Mexico, and Spain. She was a visiting professor at the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice at New York University. She was a Global South Fellow at Dejusticia, Bogotá (2019–2020). Adjunct Professor at the Venezuela Observatory, Universidad del Rosario. She is a member of the coordinating team’s board of the Jesuit Network with Migrants South America. She currently serves as general coordinator of the AlertaVenezuela coalition and is an associate researcher at the UCAB Human Rights Center, in charge of the migrant and refugee rights program.
