Guidelines 2016-2017
The Tinker-Nave Faculty Publication Supplement of up to $2,000 is designed to provide a modest subvention for completed manuscripts by faculty working on Latin American, the Caribbean, or the Iberian Peninsula. Support will be provided to help meet publication costs of original manuscripts and occasionally to support translation of an original work into another language; projects that are themselves translations will not be supported. All things being equal, special consideration will be given to applications from junior faculty.
Applications must include a statement by the author, copy of the book contract, a departmental nomination letter, and in the case of junior faculty, another letter of endorsement from a senior faculty member. The statement by the author must address the relevance of the manuscript for the study of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain or Portugal. Each department can nominate no more than two projects per year.
Applications must be received by October 15 or April 15. Please send one copy of the application electronically to the LACIS Director, Kata Beilin (kobeilin@wisc.edu) and one hard copy to the LACIS office, 209 Ingraham Hall.
