Maria Kraus

Undergraduate student majoring in Community and Environmental Sociology. Expected graduation: May 2024

I am a second-year transfer student majoring in community and environmental sociology with an interest in international studies, Spanish, and social work. My hobbies include: painting, ceramics, podcast binging, and taking my dogs to Starbucks for a pup cup.

My passion for learning about other cultures was inspired by the various exchange students my family hosted growing up. This interest was solidified when I took a gap year after high school to study abroad in Ghana through the US State Department program, YES Abroad.

Now, I am excited to continue my education at UW Madison and pleased to be a part of the LACIS team!
