Position title: Co-Editor in Chief of The Oxford Encyclopedia of Race, Ethnicity and Communication
Email: subervi@wisc.edu
Current Work: Currently, I am Co-Editor in Chief of The Oxford Encyclopedia of Race, Ethnicity and Communication, scheduled for publication in 2022. I am also working as an advisor and team member in the development of ¡Boricua!, a start-up radio and multiplatform information, entertainment and news organization for the Puerto Rican Diaspora and other Latino communities in Florida. And in collaboration with professor Anilyn Díaz-Hernández (University of Puerto Rico-Arecibo campus), I am co-editing the book, Primera Antología de Comunicación Política de Puerto Rico, which we aim to complete by the end of this year 2021. Being an honorary fellow for LACIS provides me a most important, valuable and prestigious academic affiliation that I would otherwise not have as a “retired” professor. This affiliation is also valuable as it provides me access to the UW library system, which I will use as I continue my research endeavors. I look forward to sharing my work with students and scholars at UW and elsewhere, and also learning of LACIS research and publishing opportunities for which my expertise can be of value.
