Author Karla Arenas Valenti Visits Local Schools

On Friday, October 18th, LACIS hosted children’s author, Karla Arenas Valenti, on two school visits. She visited Lodi Middle School, Lodi, WI, and Kromrey Middle School, Middleton, WI and shared details about her newly-published book, “Lola”  with over one hundred school children and their teachers.

“Lola” is described as “a simmering tale of magic, adventure, and the extraordinary bond between a brother and sister who’d journey to the ends of the Earth to save each other. From the acclaimed author of Lotería comes a heartfelt story rooted in Mexican magical realism.”

During these school visits, Arenas Valenti explained what inspired her to write the book, and engaged in an interactive art project with the kids.

It was a wonderful day that inspired creativity and imagination! One of the Lodi teachers shared this message after the visit: “Karla’s author visit was an unforgettable experience for our students. She engaged them with her warmth, enthusiasm, and passion for storytelling. Her ability to connect literature with real-life lessons made the visit not only educational but also inspiring. It was a joy to see our students so captivated by her words and eager to learn more about the writing process.”

Thank you, Karla, for sharing your talents with us!
